Mao Lo , ESL Teacher

Hello! My name is Mao Lo. I am from Wisconsin (USA). I was born in a small city called Wausau 27 years ago and raised in a big family of 7 girls and 2 boys by my parents who are both Hmong refugees from Laos. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and soon after traveled to Nanchang, Jiangxi to teach Oral English at an international kindergarten. Besides teaching English, I have also worked as a preschool and daycare provider in Wisconsin, a private tutor, and a professional singer in Nanchang. I also spent 2 years as a professional cook at one of the best restaurants in my college town.

My teaching philosophy is that every moment is an opportunity to learn. Whether you are learning about yourself or the world around you, the choices you make will determine whether you will succeed in life. Correctly completing a homework assignment on time not only earns you a good grade, it is also a stepping stone leading to wise decision making, time management, and personal achievements. Not only are our students learning required school subjects, they are also learning about themselves and their peers as well as discovering what their role will be in our world. I plan on helping my students, your children, discover the best version of themselves.
