上海美高学校学子2024年英国物理测评取得佳绩!

2024年11月6日,在阿思丹香港(ASEEDER)举办的“英国物理测评(BPhO Round 1)”中,上海美高双语学校的学子们在线上竞赛中取得了优异的成绩,这标志着他们在物理学领域的深入理解和研究能力。

在全球学术竞技的舞台上,上海美高学校的学子们再次展现了他们的卓越才华和不懈追求。恭贺Alan同学荣获全球金奖,而Jason同学则摘得全球银奖的殊荣。此外,Alan同学成功晋级剑桥物理营,同时,Alan和Jason两位同学均晋级BPhO集训营(中国站)。
On November 6, 2024, our students achieved excellent results in the online competition of the “British Physics Assessment (BPhO Round 1)” organized by ASEEDER in Hong Kong, marking their in-depth understanding of the field of Physics and their research ability.

On the stage of global academic competition, LWS students once again demonstrated their outstanding talent and relentless pursuit of excellence. Congratulations to Alan for winning the Global Gold Award and Jason for taking the Global Silver Award. In addition, Alan has successfully progressed to the Cambridge Physics Camp, while both Alan and Jason have progressed to the BPhO Intensive Training Camp (China).

These achievements not only highlight the academic strength of LWS students, but also reflect their diligent study and courageous spirit of exploration.

2024年英国物理测评(BPhO Round 1)

英国物理测评始于1979年,1983年正式为英国选拔国家代表队参与国际物理奥林匹克。英国物理测评组委会主要由牛津大学、英国物理学会和Odgen基金会组成,办公室设在牛津大学物理系。英国物理测评非常注重物理知识的灵活运用,全部的试题为证明题。同学们需要运用自己所学物理知识完成挑战,其涉及的知识点非常广泛,活动不要求同学们完成所有试题,而是鼓励同学们根据自己兴趣和学习范围选择完成自己擅长的部分。“英国物理测评 (BPhO Round 2)”,暨英国物理测评国家队最后一轮选拔活动,难度高于BPhO Round 1,在英国仅邀请BPhO Round 1中获得超级金奖 (Top Gold) 的选手参加,并从中选拔优秀选手进入英国物理国家队集训。

British Physics Assessment 2024 (BPhO Round 1)

The British Physics Assessment began in 1979 and was formalized in 1983 to select a national team for the UK to participate in the International Physics Olympiad. The BPhO organizing committee consists mainly of the University of Oxford, the British Physical Society and the Odgen Foundation, and its office is located in the Department of Physics of the University of Oxford. The UK Physics Assessment emphasizes the flexible application of physics knowledge, and all questions are proof questions. Students are required to apply their knowledge of physics to complete the challenges, which cover a wide range of topics. Students are not required to complete all the questions, but are encouraged to complete the parts they are good at according to their own interests and scope of study. “BPhO Round 2”, the final round of the BPhO national team selection, is more difficult than BPhO Round 1, and only those who have won Top Gold in BPhO Round 1 are invited to participate in the event in the UK, from which the best players will be selected to enter the UK Physics National Team training. The final round of the Physics National Team is more difficult than BPhO Round 1.

在辅导BPHO(英国物理奥林匹克)竞赛的过程中,我们团队中的同学展现了对物理的热爱和坚持不懈的学习态度,取得了全球银奖和铜奖的优异成绩。这一成功离不开扎实的物理基础和深入的知识积累。

相较于AP课程体系,英国方向的物理竞赛的内容更为广泛,要求学生掌握至少两年的AP物理1和物理2的知识。因此,我们在备赛过程中,除了系统复习,还要做属于考纲内的新知识内容补充、抓紧时间帮助同学们弥补了未涉猎的内容,使他们能够灵活应用所学。

此外,团队合作也是成功的关键。在辅导课程中,备赛同学之间的竞技和讨论,他们互相启发和鼓励,提升了解题能力和思维深度。面对挑战时,他们展现出的勇气和坚持,让我们深感欣慰。

总之,BPHO的辅导经历不仅提升了学生们的物理能力,也培养了他们解决问题的信心。我为他们的成长感到自豪,并期待他们在未来的物理探索中继续闪耀。

In coaching for the BPHO (British Physics Olympiad) competition, students in our team demonstrated a love of physics and a persistent attitude to learning, achieving an outstanding global silver and bronze medal. This success cannot be achieved without a solid foundation in physics and in-depth accumulation of knowledge.

Compared with the AP course system, the content of the UK oriented physics competition is more extensive, requiring students to master at least two years of AP Physics 1 and Physics 2 knowledge. Therefore, in the process of preparing for the competition, in addition to systematic review, we also have to do new knowledge within the syllabus to supplement, grasp the time to help students make up for the uncharted content, so that they can apply what they have learned flexibly.

In addition, teamwork is also the key to success. During the coaching sessions, the competition and discussions among the students preparing for the competition, they inspired and encouraged each other to improve their problem-solving ability and depth of thinking. The courage and perseverance they showed when facing challenges made us deeply gratified.

In conclusion, BPHO's tutoring experience not only enhanced the students' physics ability, but also developed their confidence in problem solving. I am proud of their growth and look forward to them continuing to shine in their future physics explorations.
