The majority of my previous teaching took place in Vietnam where I worked for the last 4 years and so not only do I have general teaching experience but also familiarity with teaching students who are learning English as a second language. I taught to a range of ages during my time in Vietnam, from early primary school up to high school as well as teaching students with many different levels of English which I believe puts me in a great position to teach here in China.

One of the aspects that I very much appreciated in science is how fundamental of a subject it is. That is to say; Its principles exist regardless of whether people understand them or are even aware of them. In this regard, science is inherently 'passive' in that the field of science is already laid out and that in essence, scientific knowledge is just the result of looking at things carefully enough to understand the mechanism behind how they work. I hope to instill this appreciation of the natural world in my students and to develop their curiosity and problem-solving abilities.
