海边“漫步”，不一样的精彩

Colvin老师的12年级学生围绕“环保”这一课题开展了与课程相关的社会实践活动，他们选择步行去学校附近的海滩清理垃圾。在12年级英语课程中，学生们一直在学习“行动主义”，通过负责任的行动和语言来影响他人，从而给社会带来积极的变化。

此外，枫叶世界学校课程强调：作为全球公民应具备的核心素养之一是尊重环境。本次活动由学生提出，老师支持并助力，最终活动得以顺利开展。

很高兴看到学生们将课题付诸实践并且全程积极参与，枫叶世界学校课程正不断培养学生成为具备有能力、有责任的青少年，枫叶毕业生们也正在用实际行动践行着成为世界公民的使命!
 
                                                                    Maple Leafers Care for Their Environment

As a result of the learning our grade 12 students of Mr. Colvin’s class have done around environmentalism, they elected to take a walk to the beach near the school to clean up the environment. In their English 12 course these students have been studying about activism and ways to effect change in society through responsible action and words. In addition, one of the Key Competency areas of the Maple Leaf World School curriculum in the area of Global Citizenship is focused on showing respect for the environment. This activity was thought up by students who approached their teacher for support and assistance in making it a reality. It is fantastic to see students actively engage with their course work and choosing to bring it into reality in their lives and that MLWS curriculum is building students’ competence and capacity as responsible young adults. These graduates are already on their way to making an impact on the world!
